Classic Game Room HD reviews the Sega Genesis Model 2 video game system console. The Sega Genesis Model 2 is the smaller Genesis that was released in 1994. The Sega Genesis was first launched in the united states in 1989 with the model 1, the model 2 is much smaller, was less expensive and had a few things removed like the headphone volume control. The Genesis is known as the Mega Drive (or Megadrive) in Europe and looks more or less the same. All Mega Drive (Megadrive) games play on the model 1 and model 2, depending on if yours is US, Japanese, European, etc... There is even a Model 3 MD which is the smallest of the bunch. This video reviews the build quality and features of the Model 2 vs. the Model 1. There are hundreds of amazing 16-bit games for the Genesis like Sonic the Hedgehog, Revenge of Shinobi, Jungle Strike and X-Men. Here's all of the characters in Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing (Wii) and their All-Star moves. These moves are a great way to catch up to the people up front and are availiable offline. However on Wi-fi, these aren't available and I think I may know why. If you go to the ChuChu's All-Star move in the video, I think there's a good reason why. Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing (Wii) - All-Star Moves Montage
I'm sure many of you have been waiting for this, so I might as well put it up. If you've been watching my Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing video, then you've seen it happen over and over: The music suddenly cuts to some different song, the announcer talks about some All-Star Move, and someone from the back of the pack suddenly catches up and unleashes something devastating! These are All-Star Moves. They are, in essence, personalized Bullet Bills (from Mario Kart Wii). In nearly all of them, the character gets a speed boost, are guided automatically along the track, become invincible, and in some cases, acquire some new attack that can knock around other players. The extent of the speed boost, the duration of the move, their maneuverability, and the effects of attacks, if any, vary between characters. And, of course, if you're familiar with the music from the games the characters hail from, be prepared for a trip down memory lane. Except in the case of BD Joe, as Crazy Taxi's soundtrack is mostly licensed music that Sumo Digital isn't able to modify. Unfortunately, these are not that balanced. Some All-Star Moves are amazingly powerful and will almost guarantee a shoot to the front of the pack (like Virtual Fight), and some are just minor boosts that don't take you very far (like Giant Froggy). Each clip has an annotation that tells you the full known names of the racers, the name of the All-Star Move, and as far as my knowledge, the name of the song that plays. Please let ...

It's an ADVENTURE!! Classic Game Room buys a SEGA SATURN video game console system!!! This action packed behind the scenes adventure film follows Classic Game Room to the front lines of video editing all the way into Squirrel Hill to buy a used Sega Saturn. The Saturn was not one of Sega's most successful video game consoles, in fact you could say it failed horribly. However, that doesn't mean that there aren't some great games for it like Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Virtua Fighter 2, Darius Gaiden, DoDonPachi, Doom, Shenmue, Guardian Heroes, Panzer Dragoon Zwei II, Sega Rally, Shining Force III, Snatcher and Sonic Jam. It is well known for 2D games like vertical and horizontal scrolling shooters, or SHMUPS like Gunbird. The SHMUP genre was never as popular in the United States and most people didn't give a hoot about the Saturn because they were too busy playing Playstation back in the mid to late 1990's. Well, whatever. Classic Game Room certainly doesn't care if most other people thumbed their nose at it, we're getting one, and here's the movie depicting the journey to Saturn!!!!

Classic Game Room HD reviews the SEGA GENESIS VECTREX CONTROLLER, a Sega Genesis controller modified to play on the GCE Vectrex arcade system! This hardware review features a modded Sega Mega Drive (Genesis) controller that fits into the Vectrex controller ports. Not an "official" product, this recycled controller has a bit shaved off the plug which allows it to fit the Vectrex, and the buttons have been configured to play Vectrex games. The start button on the Genesis controller has been made to work as a Vectrex button. This review of the Vectrex Sega Genesis controller shows this controller being used to play several Vectrex games including Berzerk, Scramble, Web Wars, Solar Quest and Hyper Chase. The d-pad does not have analog controls so gameplay with games like Hyperchase that require Vectrex analog control don't work well.

Classic Game Room HD - SEGA RALLY 1 on Sega Saturn
Classic Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out a review of SEGA RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP for the Sega Saturn video game console system. Sega Rally is a very old Saturn game from 1995, one of the launch titles in fact. It is a port of the Sega Rally Arcade sit down driving game that you'd play in the arcades back in the day. With screaming, rocking Japanese synth video game music this game has to be hard to believe. The music is AWESOME and is some of the best cheesy over the top video game scores ever created. Break out the Casio keyboard and play along, GAME OVER YEAHHHH!!!! You have a choice of two cars and three tracks to start. Race on a variety of surfaces and compete in championships, time trials or just practice. Other cars are on the track with you and you have to defeat them in wheeled rally racing combat with your race cars. There is a super duper with super cheesy sprinkles on top cheesy replay mode where the tracks are floating in thin air. All joking aside though, this is a straight forward arcade racing simulator and fairly enjoyable once you look past the dated, early 32 bit polygon graphics. Drive a Toyota or Lancia. This is the first Sega Saturn review from CGRHD and we have more planned in the future. This happens to be the game that came with our game console. Classic Game Room was the original classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999-2000 ...

Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out the 1990's hair band guitar metal and gigantic transforming robots to review Android Assault: The Revenge of Bari Arm for the Sega CD. The Sega CD was a short lived, unique, console video game system that worked with the Sega Genesis (Megadrive Mega Drive) 16 bit wonder machine. Android Assault is a SHMUP horizontally scrolling shooter where you pilot a Robotech, Transformer, Go Bot-like mecha, mechwarrior fighter thingy against wave after wave of alien bad guys. It's like Guitar Hero with guns... or like Thunder Force III or Gradius mixed with Headbanger's Ball... for all the headbangers out there who remember!!! Late on Saturday night, no date, Sega Genesis and Whitesnake on your MTV... ahh the memories. Be sure to watch the original Classic Game Room episodes. Classic Game Room HD reviews DAYTONA USA for the Sega Saturn video game console. DAYTONAAAAAAAAAA, YEAH! This Sega produced arcade driving racing game was released originally in 1994 as a coin-op machine and saw its debut on the Sega Saturn as a launch title in 1995. It is an arcade racing game, not a simulation game like Gran Turismo 5 or Ferrari Challenge. Drive one of one stock car looking cars around several different tracks. Daytona USA may not have much in the way of heavy hitting graphics but it does have awesome, fun gameplay and terrific replay value. The music is insane and reminds CGRHD or BWP (Bitches with Problems) the all girl rap act from the late 80's. Rock out to the music and drive like a maniac in Daytona USA from Sega! This Daytona USA review has gameplay footage from the game showing the racing driving and pop-in with the graphics. Sega later released an enhanced version of Daytona on the Saturn. The Sega arcade Yu Suzuki masterpiece, Virtua Figter, plays fast and smooth on the 32X. Early polygon graphics may not make the game a visual treat but gameplay is rock solid and as true to fighting as a video game with polygon created characters can be. Tap a direction, press a button or combination of buttons and pull of a wide variety of "realistic" moves... Realistic compared to shooting fireballs and tentatcles that is. Classic Game Room HD reviews the SEGA GENESIS MODEL 3 which was produced by Majesco and was the smallest, cheapest and lightest Sega Genesis from its era. While there are a handful of games that don't work with the Model 3 Sega Genesis like Virtua Racing (which sucks anyway, 32X version is better), the Model 3 Genesis offers a smaller footprint and typically lower price. It also does not work with Sega 32X adapter, Sega Power Base Converter or Sega CD add on. It does work with the Sega Nomad power supply and the Sega Genesis Model 2 AV cables.

This arcade racer makes a fantastic appearance on one of the early pack-in games for the Sega Master System. I have 2 versions of Hang On, one with Safari Hunt and one with Astro Warrior! Hang on is brought over the master system with clear, smooth and excellent gameplay and visuals. If you like auto racing games like OutRun, Forza and Gran Turismo 5 then you should give Hang On a spin. It is dirt cheap today and tons of fun, you race to checkpoints and earn points just like the old school games at the arcades. This CGR review of Cyborg Hunter for Sega Master System has gameplay from Cyborg Hunter showing video game play in action. The year is 2242 and you are the toughest bounty hunter in the galaxy! This 2D side scrolling adventure game has you playing as Paladin as you fight cyborgs in Cyborg Fortress! Armed with a Psycho Gun and Jet Pack (among other devices) you combat enemies and end bosses. Cyborg Hunter is fairly sub-par in most respects but has a certain, cheesy charm that is unique to the game. Fans of cheesy sci-fi adventure games may want to give this one a play.
